Ruam-Tawan Centre

Over the past 10 years, the Association for the Development of Environmental Quality (ADEQ), a Thai non-governmental organization found in 1988, has continuously launched many public campaigns aiming to raise Thai citizen’s awareness on natural resource and environmental conservation. ADEQ’s various projects are increasingly initiated and ADEQ realizes that the area is limited to permanently hold the exhibition, demonstrations, seminars and training courses.

In response to the above problem,  ADEQ, in year 1999, bought a piece of land located on Kanchanaburi-Ladya Road, about 50 km from Kanchanaburi province’s town center, whilst an educational center, named  Ruam-Tawan Centre, was then established to permanently host ADEQ's exhibition materials that once was used in ADEQ's campaigning activities. The Centre has since then operated to organize all year round workshops and hand-on exhibitions on resource efficiency and environmental conservation for many groups of people such as youth, teachers, business enterprises and governmental officials, etc., with the main 4 objectives accordingly;
Main Objectives
1. To house various demonstrations on environmental sound consumption pattern.
2. To display environmentally friendly technologies and products such as energy efficient and renewable energy technologies.
3. To hold seminars, training and workshops on environmental sustainability such as Energy Efficiency workshops, Workshop on Water Resource Management toward Ecological Sustainability.
4. To facilitate activities aiming to enable public participation towards environmental sustainability such as youth camps or camps for green teacher network.

The courses provided in Ruam-Tawan Centre focuses on 4 focal areas.
