| 0830 – 1000 Group work 1 Introductions, programme overview, case study groups set up group exercise on inter-cultural communication 1000 – 1100 City Tour 1100 – 1230 West Coast tour with tree planting 1230 – 1300 Picnic lunch at a scenic location Including introduction to protocols and format for Powhiri (welcome ceremony) 1300 – 1415 West Coast tour continues 1415 – 1500 Depart West Coast and return to City. Waiata (song) practice for Powhiri on the bus back to Auckland 1500 – 1545 Arrive back at hotel 1545 – 1615 Final Waiata practice 1630 – 1700 Powhiri 1700 – 1830 Dinner 1900 – 2100 Group work 2 Information sharing session Country overviews (10 minutes for each group) focusing on similarities, differences, what can be learned from NZ |
