Korean Delegates to Eco-Minds 2007
Three Korean BYEEs have been named to participate in the Eco-Minds forum to be held from May 31 to June 3, 2007 in Thailand. Bayer Korea has selected the representatives among the current BYEEs, who are more enthusiastic and more active about environmental protection activities. The selected bright BYEEs are Pan-Gyu Kim, Hee-Yoon Kim, Ji-Eun Kim and their brief introductions are as follows. They will participate in the eco-minds on behalf of other BYEEs and Korea, and will work together with other delegates to develop the innovative solutions to the environmental problems.
Pan-Gyu Kim is a senior in Keimyung University and studying Environmental Engineering & Science. He has learned how environmental pollution is controlled in the field of engineering. PanGyu is also interested in not only air pollution but also Ozone hall, new renewable energy and climate changes.
Hee-Yoon Kim is a senior majoring in Biology in Kyung Hee University (KHU). She is a birdwatcher, and once she led the field biology club Ari in KHU. HeeYoon studied in the laboratory of Animal Ecology for 18 months and worked as a field assistant for doctorate research for 2 years. HeeYoon is currently working on her graduation paper on bird vocalizations. Her main interest is animal communication system and her dream is to study and protect lives of other species.
Ji-Eun Kim is studying Psychology, especially cognitive psychology. She has taken an active part in environmental activities voluntarily for 7 years. In 2006, JiEun participated in an “Energy Field Trip”. During the field trip, she could learn about photovoltaic power generation, solar power generation, and new renewable energy. Since then, JiEun started to get other people be interested in ways of saving resources. As a part of effort, she has been using cloth-made sanitary napkin instead of disposable napkins for 3 years.
