Three Thai delegates to participate in Eco-Minds 2007
Pakaporn Kantapasara from Thammasat University, Chanintorn Pensute from Chulalongkorn University and Wilasinee Annapanurak from Naresuan University were announced to participate in Eco-Minds 2007, a regional youth forum in the partnership between Bayer and United Nations Environment Programme, to be held in Thailand during May 31- June 4, 2007. Together with other delegates from eight countries in Asia-Pacific, they will gain insights into environmental resource dynamics and to learn and share methodology of sustainability thinking through excursion and lectures from prominent local and international resource speakers. Moreover, an inter-disciplinary group-work case study will challenge delegates to seek scientific and technological solutions for sustainability.

Following is the preliminary information about their education and interests.

Pakaporn Kantapasara currently studies in Major Environmental Management of Siridhorn International Institute of Technology, Thammasat University. Environmental has been her subject of interest since she was young. Last year, she spent one month working as a volunteer of Global Volunteer Network in New Zealand. She had involved in a combination of direct habitat restoration project. It concerned about predator control, tree planting, invasive weed removal. Moreover she had a chance to assist in environmental/conservation research such as bird monitoring, marine mammal monitoring and ecological projects.

Chanintorn Pensute is a Political Science student of Chulalongkorn University. She used to work for Green Peace as a volunteer, and she was selected to receive the best national student award in 2006 from the Office of Welfare Promotion, Protection and Empowerment of Vulnerable Groups, Ministry of Social Development and Human Security. During end of last year, she represented Thai youths in the international symposium on the developing young volunteers held in Malaysia.

Wilasinee Annapanurak is studying law at Naresuan University. She is very interested in how to apply law for sustaining river basin and she found that few laws should be used together such as the industry act, the environment act, or the conservative forest act. She was a member of the Student Association for the environment campaign who actively urged students in university to take the public electric buses in stead of riding their own motorcycles.
